Tour to Tortuguero National Park 2D/1N: Be part of the green Turtle nesting Season

Tortuguero National Park offers high biodiversity, we can find more than 400 species of trees and also an enormous diversity of fauna that includes endangered species of mammals such as jaguar, ocelot, manatee, tayra, sloth, three species of monkeys and tapir. One of the park’s main attractions is the sea turtle nesting. Tortuguero is the place where the four turtle species of the Caribbean Sea come to nest. These species are the giant Leatherback turtle, Green turtle (2nd in size and the most abundant in the park), Hawksbill turtle (brown color), and Loggerhead turtle (the smallest in size and threatened around the world due to the value of its shell used to produce art crafts).

Itinerary:

Day 01:
Pick up early in the morning at major hotels in San José. Admire the biodiversity of an astonishing protected area in Costa Rica as we drive by Braulio Carrillo National Park, a primary forest in 95% of its extension. Have a taste of our delicious Costa Rican breakfast in route. Be our special guest in a banana processing and packaging plant and learn more about one of Costa Rica’s prime products (subject to availability).Board a comfortable boat upon arrival to the port and let this extraordinarily exotic paradise enchant you, as you travel along the Tortuguero Canals. Have a one-in-a-lifetime experience in this unique place surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna of breathtaking beauty. Enjoy a delicious lunch at your lodge. After lunch, we will visit the museum, the beach area and the small and picturesque town of Tortuguero. A delightful dinner will be served upon arrival to the lodge. Optional Night Tour: Walk on the beach and admire the green turtles nesting (July through September)

Day 02:
Optional morning tour: Enjoy nature at its best as you undertake a journey through the canals at dawn, and take your best shots of a real Caribbean sunrise.Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer from the lodge to San José by boat and bus. Lunch.

Recommendations:The maximum baggage allowance is 25 pounds per person. (Your hotel will gladly keep the rest of your items in storage). Do not bring valuables or lot of cash.
What to bring: jeans, tennis, shoes, sandals, swimming suit, shorts, T shirts, hat, flashlight, mosquito repellent and film for your camera.
